What it is
BetMGM is jointly owned by MGM Resorts and Entain. Corporate materials describe a sports betting and online gaming company headquartered in New Jersey, using Entain technology and MGM’s U.S. brand and property network. Sister brands have included Borgata Online and PartyCasino / partypoker in some markets.
In New Jersey, DGE lists nj.betmgm.com casino and poker as approved internet gaming sites under Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. Borgata itself is an MGM property. That is the market-access relationship, not a second casino you have to visit.
Who it is for
BetMGM tends to fit adults who already stay at MGM properties, collect MGM Rewards, or want sports and casino under a brand they recognize from Las Vegas or Atlantic City. The sportsbook is a full national-style board in licensed states — moneylines, spreads, totals, props, live betting — not a novelty kiosk.
It is a weaker fit if you never use MGM hotels and you only care about having the sharpest price on a single NFL side. Shop lines. Loyalty points are not a substitute for reading the hold on a bet.
Products, in plain terms
- Sportsbook. Online in licensed states and at many MGM retail sportsbooks. BetMGM’s own marketing in 2026 listed a long set of states plus Ontario; treat that list as the operator’s claim and confirm in-app. Mississippi, where listed, is a different (often retail-oriented) market than New Jersey.
- Casino and poker. Available only where iGaming is legal and BetMGM is licensed. New Jersey is one of those markets.
- Rewards. Online play can earn BetMGM Rewards points and, depending on current program rules, interact with MGM Rewards tiers. Program rules change. Read the live rewards terms; do not open an account solely because a point chart looked generous in an ad.
Legal-state caveat
A BetMGM login is not a nationwide license. Casino games that load in New Jersey will not load in a sports-betting-only state. Always let geolocation decide. Do not use a VPN.
