What it is
FanDuel began as a daily fantasy company in 2009 and is now Flutter Entertainment’s principal U.S. gaming brand. It offers a sportsbook, iGaming, daily fantasy, horse racing, and related products. Company materials describe headquarters in New York.
In New Jersey, DGE lists casino.fanduel.com and poker.fanduel.com as approved internet gaming sites under Golden Nugget Atlantic City. The sportsbook is a separately licensed New Jersey sports-wagering product and has long been one of the largest books in the state by handle.
Who it is for
FanDuel tends to fit adults who want a straightforward mobile sportsbook — especially same-game parlays — and who already know the brand from fantasy sports. The casino product is a reasonable second tab if you live in an iGaming state and prefer not to split brands.
It is a weaker fit if you want a rewards program tied to a specific hotel group, or if FanDuel is not licensed in your state. A smaller book can have better odds on a given game; “largest” is not the same as “best price.”
Products, in plain terms
- Sportsbook. Online and, in some states, retail. Availability is limited to licensed jurisdictions. FanDuel’s own site is the place to confirm the current map.
- Casino / iGaming. Real-money casino where the state allows it. Public descriptions in 2026 commonly listed Connecticut, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia among FanDuel’s U.S. casino states. That is not a substitute for checking the app in your location.
- Fantasy and racing. Different products, different rules, sometimes different ages. Do not assume a fantasy balance is a sportsbook balance.
Legal-state caveat
FanDuel cannot offer New Jersey casino games to someone standing in New York, even if that person has a FanDuel sportsbook account in New York. Each product is geofenced. Crossing a state line can turn a legal session into an unavailable one.
Responsible gaming
FanDuel provides deposit limits, time-outs, and self-exclusion on licensed products. New Jersey residents can also enroll in the state’s self-exclusion program. If gambling is no longer entertainment, stop and call 1-800-GAMBLER. More on our responsible gaming page.
This review is informational. FanDuel is a licensed operator. You can lose the money you deposit.
